For Gulab Jamun Dough

1 cup milk powder

¼ cup all-purpose flour (maida)

2 tbsp ghee

½ tsp baking powder

3–4 tbsp milk (for kneading)
For Sugar Syrup

1½ cups sugar
-
1½ cups water
-
2 green cardamoms (crushed)

1 tbsp rose water or kewra water
-
Few saffron strands (optional)
For Frying

Oil or ghee (for deep frying)

Step 1: Prepare Sugar Syrup

In a pot, add sugar and water.

Boil until slightly sticky (1-string consistency).

Add cardamom, rose water, and saffron.

Keep syrup warm.
Step 2: Make Dough

In a bowl, mix milk powder, flour, baking powder, and ghee.

Gradually add milk and gently knead into a soft dough.

Rest for 10 minutes.
Step 3: Shape Jamuns

Divide dough into small portions.

Roll into smooth balls with no cracks.
Step 4: Fry

Heat oil or ghee on low heat.

Fry jamuns slowly, stirring gently, until golden brown.

Remove and rest for 1 minute.
Step 5: Soak

Add warm jamuns to warm sugar syrup.

Let them soak for 2–3 hours before serving.
