Kashmiri Chai, also known as Gulabi Chai or Pink Tea, is a traditional Pakistani tea made with green tea leaves, baking soda, and milk. It is creamy, aromatic, and beautifully pink in color, usually served on special occasions and winter evenings.
☕ Ingredients
Tea Base

2 tbsp Kashmiri green tea leaves

4 cups water

¼ tsp baking soda

1 cinnamon stick

2 green cardamoms (crushed)
For Color & Flavor

Ice-cold water (½ cup)

2 cups full-fat milk

Salt (a pinch)

Sugar (optional, to taste)
Garnish (Optional)

🍵 Instructions
Step 1: Boil Tea

In a pot, add water and Kashmiri tea leaves.

Boil uncovered on high heat for 20–30 minutes until water reduces by half and turns dark red.
Step 2: Develop Pink Color

Add baking soda and boil for 1 minute.

Pour in ice-cold water — the tea will instantly change color.
Step 3: Add Milk

Add milk and cinnamon stick.

Simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes until creamy and pink.
Step 4: Season

Add a pinch of salt (traditional).

Add sugar if you prefer a sweet version.

Stir well.
Step 5: Serve
Strain into cups and garnish with nuts.
