📝 Ingredients

Meat & Vegetables

  • ½ kg beef or mutton

  • 2 medium potatoes (peeled & cut into chunks)

  • 2 medium onions (finely sliced)

  • 2 medium tomatoes (chopped)

  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

  • 3 tbsp oil

Spices

Garnish


🍳 How to Make Aloo Gosht (Step-By-Step)

Step 1 – Fry the Onions

Heat oil in a pot and fry onions until soft and lightly golden.

Step 2 – Add Meat

Add the meat and sauté for 5–6 minutes until it changes color.

Step 3 – Add Ginger Garlic & Tomatoes

Add ginger garlic paste and chopped tomatoes.
Cook until tomatoes soften and the oil separates.

Step 4 – Add Spices

Mix in:

  • red chilli

  • turmeric

  • coriander

  • cumin

  • salt

Cook for another 3–4 minutes.

Step 5 – Add Water & Cook

Add 2–3 cups of water.
Cook until the meat is 90% tender.
(Use pressure cooker for 20–25 minutes, or cook on stove for 50–60 minutes.)

Step 6 – Add Potatoes

Add potatoes and cook until soft, about 10–12 minutes.

Step 7 – Adjust Gravy

  • For thick gravy → cook on high for 5 minutes

  • For thin gravy → add little water

Step 8 – Garnish

Top with:

  • fresh coriander

  • ginger slices

  • green chilli
