⭐ Chicken Qorma Recipe (Pakistani Style)
Chicken Qorma is a royal Mughlai dish made with yogurt, whole spices, and fried onions. This creamy, mildly spicy curry is a staple at weddings, Eid, and family gatherings.

Main Ingredients

½ kg chicken (bone-in preferred)

½ cup oil or ghee
-
2 medium onions (thinly sliced)
-
1 cup yogurt (whisked)
-
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
-
Salt to taste
Whole Spices
-
3–4 green cardamoms
-
4 cloves
-
1 small cinnamon stick
-
1 bay leaf
Ground Spices
-
1 tsp red chili powder
-
1 tsp coriander powder
-
½ tsp turmeric powder
-
½ tsp cumin powder
-
½ tsp garam masala
For Garnish
-
1 tbsp slivered almonds (optional)
-
Fresh coriander (optional)
๐ฒ Instructions
Step 1: Fry Onions

Heat oil/ghee in a heavy pan.

Fry sliced onions until golden brown.

Remove half and crush for later use.
Step 2: Cook Chicken
-
Add whole spices to the same oil.
-
Add ginger-garlic paste and sautรฉ.
-
Add chicken and cook until color changes.
Step 3: Yogurt & Spices

Lower heat and add yogurt gradually while stirring.

Add ground spices and crushed fried onions.
-
Cook until oil separates.
Step 4: Dum Cooking

Add ½ cup water if needed.
-
Cover and cook on low heat for 20–25 minutes.
Step 5: Final Touch

Sprinkle garam masala.

Add kewra/rose water.
-
Garnish and turn off heat.
