Chana Daal Halwa is a classic Pakistani dessert made with soaked chana daal, pure ghee, milk, and sugar. This rich and aromatic halwa is commonly prepared on special occasions, winters, and festive gatherings.

1 cup chana daal (washed & soaked overnight)

1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

1 cup ghee

1 cup milk

½ cup water (if needed)
Flavoring

½ tsp cardamom powder

8–10 almonds (sliced)

8–10 pistachios (sliced)
๐ฒ Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Daal

Drain soaked chana daal completely.

Grind into a coarse paste using very little water.
Step 2: Cook the Daal

Heat ghee in a heavy-bottom pan.

Add the ground daal and cook on low-medium heat.

Stir continuously for 20–25 minutes until fragrant and golden.
Step 3: Add Milk

Slowly add milk while stirring continuously.

Cook until the mixture thickens and absorbs the milk.
Step 4: Sweeten

Add sugar and mix well.

Cook until halwa leaves the sides of the pan and ghee separates.
Step 5: Flavor & Garnish

Add cardamom powder.

Garnish with almonds and pistachios.

Cook for 2–3 more minutes and turn off heat.
